DASH elevates models, principles, and practices that support multisector data-sharing ecosystems to achieve health equity

Why data?

If bits of data capture fragments of lives, then datasets can represent entire communities. Combine different sets of data, and you might begin to see those communities in higher resolution along with the solutions that make them healthier and happier.

This is why we support projects across the nation that collect and exchange granular and timely data, make information available to community residents, inform policy changes, and address systemic barriers to health.

To date, DASH has funded over 200 projects nationwide.

 Funding Programs

Incubator

(2024-2025)

The Incubator is a funding and support program for established multi-sector or multi-focus local collaborations working to strengthen and advance equitable data-sharing ecosystems.

The participating eight organizations, and community members with lived experience, co-design the meaningful work that they will implement, while DASH staff, technical assistance advisors, and peers provide structure and support.

Learning and Action in Policy and Partnerships (LAPP)

(2021-2022)

Our LAPP funding program helped community partners engaged in data-sharing projects connect with state policymakers.

The goal of developing community-state partnerships is to ensure that state policies are informed by the people whose lives will be most impacted by those very policy decisions.

Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD)

(2022)

Developed in the early 90s, the ABCD methodology highlights existing assets and resources within a community, and uses those strengths as the basis for development.

This approach recognizes community members as empowered, active, and autonomous participants in the process of improving their own lives – as opposed to seeing them as passive subjects who require outside help.
